Mission
The mission of the Minnesota High School Ultimate League is to provide high quality opportunities for Minnesota high school students to learn and to play the sport of Ultimate Frisbee. We believe in the code of the Spirit of the Game and seek to promote spirit among all our participants.
Next Coaching Workshop
An additional Level I Coach Certification Workshop has been scheduled at Blaine on April 21. During the 2012 Spring Season, the League requires that each Program (School) have at least one Level I Certified Coach. We recognize that April 21st is also the weekend of Face-Off but this time of year it's impossible to schedule any weekend that doesn't conflict with something. I, Bruce Mebust, will be at the Workshop and I hope to see many of you there. Click here to register.
Events Page
Important dates and events of interest to Youth Ultimate appear on the Events Page. If you know of other events that could be added to the list, please send them to me.
Announcing New Conduct Policy
Please review the new Conduct Policy described on the Policies page.
2012 Spring Season
Planning for the 2012 Spring Season is under way.
The first Girls game will be Tuesday, April 3rd and the first Open game will be Thursday, April 5th and continuing on for eight scheduled weekly games.
The Coaches and Captains meeting will be held on Wednesdey, February 8th (see Events Page at left) where detailed information will be provided about the upcoming season.
In preparation, Coaches and Captains should check their team contact information (see Teams link at the left) and send any updates to Bruce Mebust. League rules require a supervising adult at each game. Please provide a cell phone number for each Coach or other adult for game-day contact.
Some teams also provide contact information for their Captains. Remember that the Internet is a dangerous place. Please be sure that any such information is provided with the consent of the players and their parents.
Each team must also provide the name of the person (Coach or Parent) that will be handling of rostering duties for the team. This Roster Coordinator will be contacted by the State Youth Coordinator, with any questions and issues.
Please check your field information and send me any new field locations or improvements in the map coordinates. Also tell us how many home games your fields will handle. We know that this will be "one" for most teams but if you can field more than one home game at a time it will help us a lot with scheduling.
Check back here from time to time for more information.
2011 USAU Youth Club Championship
For the seventh consecutive year, the Minnesota High School Ultimate League hosted the USA Ultimate sponsored Youth Club Championships for 2011 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN on August 13th and 14th. Beginning this year, there was a U16 division for players under 16. See the USA Ultimate web site for more details.
Thank you to all the volunteers that made this a successful event! We will also be hosting the 2012 YCC on August 11th and 12th again at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Please consider volunteering for this event as well.
Call for Volunteers
Volunteers make League tournaments and other events happen. Without the many people who organize and do many tasks, our events wouldn't be possible.
Please consider being a volunteer for an upcoming event. Go to the Volunteer page and give us your contact and interest information.
Thanks!
